How is living in Toronto?

My typical day as a student was a bit like in France. Indeed, I got up at 7 am to go in class at 8 am. I took my breakfast, bread with jam and a tea and sometimes English breakfast if I had the time. Then I took the bus from my apartment to the discovery district of the university. My first class started at 9 am and it was usually tutorials. Sometimes we had free time to work on our projects.

At 12, I grabbed lunch with friends at a campus café and we had fun like discussing, joking or playing video games. Then, by 1:30 pm we often had lab session where we worked on a specific material in groups. Sometimes, we used the computers to learn how to some softwares necessary for making theoretical experiences. I loved that part of practicals. At the end, we had to make a report of our productions and say what we did and what we found analyzing the results. It was really impressive to sea all the facilities that we had at university.

The day at school ends at 6 pm. I took the bus to go back home, I used to come back with a friend that lived not fare from me. When I was at home I used to take a break of 1h and then I did my "homework" (what you didn't finish in class). Then, about 8 pm I had dinner, and I called like 2 times a week my parents. Then I liked watch series or going to bar with the friends. I was at bed about 0:30 am.

In another side, I had a real student life. As I love sport, I practiced football (European) at the university on the evenings and I worked out at the gym. We had trainings on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and we had a match on Sunday. That was an incredible experience.

I liked also hang out with my group of friends. Indeed, we usually went to the bar and sometimes in nightclubs. The student life in Toronto is incredible, because there are a lot of student coming from all over the world like Spanish, French, Italian, Norwegian... If I could go back in Toronto, I would do it without any doubt.

There's another point I have to tell you. Indeed you have to go shopping, do the food shop and you will see that cost of life is far more expensive than in Europe. That's why you have to keep a month budget. It will help you to become more autonomous and responsible. If you see that you have financial problems, you can ask help to an older student that will help you to create your budget. Otherwise, you can apply for a little job to work alongside your studies.  I had a job on the week-ends as a waiter in a bar we used to go. They took me because they knew me and I had their trust. That was helping me a lot in life as a partier.

SO APPLY FOR A JOB ALONGSIDE YOUR STUDIES AND ENJOY THE MOST YOU CAN.
